a touch of embroidery

This kind of thing does my head in - how do you cross-stitch a wooden table?! Obviously needles that push through wood dont exist, or do they?! I can image that the amount of work involved to make this would be quite insane. 

I love the combination of delicate embroidery & design with the boxiness of the table. This is really pretty, but perhaps not your typical rainy day activity!
