east cape roadie / part two

I could show you photos of lots of beautiful beaches along the East Cape, but I thought I would show you some of the places which stuck in my mind.

1st & 2nd photos - this is the carved church at Tikitiki. It was incredibly beautiful & serene. The pews were lined with homemade cushions in vintage fabric scraps, trims & embroidery. It made me wonder about the community of people who worship at the church.

3rd photo - I love the full stop after each 'NO' & the way bullshit is spelt. Funny.

4th photo - the historic wharf in Tolaga Bay. Its 660m long - a nice walk after sitting in the car for a while :)

I was forwarded the link to this amazing Summer 2012 campaign.
The soft focus, colours & illustration are so magical & dream like.

Thanks for the link Anna!

east cape roadie / part one

I have just returned from a week cruising the East Cape. Its so isolated & beautiful out there - not to mention the home of NZ movies Boy & Whale Rider.
We picked up this tourist map en route & I loved the fun design of it so much that I had to share it with you.
If only all maps were this cool. A job well done by the team behind this design.

Stay tuned for part two tomorrow - photos of the trip.

As summer slowly draws to a close, this Birdsong quilt from Father Rabbit would make the perfect accessory for those cooler autumn nights.

tokyo. collision of contrasts

Citta Designs new winter collection Tokyo. Collision of Contrasts will be instore soon - exciting!

I don't think you can buy shelves like these here in NZ (I could be wrong), but I think a trip to the local hardware store & a bit of DIY genius could solve my desire for some :)

Images & their sources can be found here.

There is something about the combination of gold with the geometric shape of these beauties which makes me want to grab my credit card & purchase, purchase, purchase!

office inspiration

My project for the coming month is too sort our our spare room / office. My poor boyfriend has been making do with his computer set up on an old chest of drawers, surrounded by all of our junk for far to long! Time for a clean out & investing in some office furniture I think :)
